Emily Saunders
Writer / Director / Producer
Born and raised in New York City, Emily was educated at an international school before attending Wellesley College, where she earned a B.A. in English Literature with a focus on Shakespeare.
She began her career in the fashion industry, working at Perry Ellis and Marc Jacobs before launching her own line, SAUNDER. What started as a capsule of seven dresses grew into an internationally distributed brand, a celebrity favorite that showed several seasons at New York Fashion Week.
After running SAUNDER for 8 years, she decided to pivot, returning to school to earn an MBA from NYU. While earning her MBA, she also became one of six writers selected for the NYU Production Lab’s nine-month screenwriting incubator. That experience reignited her love of storytelling and marked the start of a new creative chapter.
Since graduating, she has dedicated herself to writing for theater, film, television, and audio. And in addition to her writing, she co-founded a fashion consulting business, advising brands on strategy, positioning, and growth across the fashion and luxury landscape.
